The second-hand shopping app has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes without notifying every member regarding the update. Social Media Response Countless users and merchants have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification. The company said the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Changes Previously, the sizing featured one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said. Required Changes A different user, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated. Marketplace Information The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
